Description

Tots Gigs Sunday special presents: TRÚ

A SoundsCreative Projects event

All gigs start at 11am

For all parents missing going to gigs in the evening, Tots Gigs is a monthly morning series of  acoustic gigs for parents with babies/toddlers in tow.

Bringing to the stage an eclectic mix of established & emerging musicians from the world, folk and contemporary music scene, from percussive alt-folk via classical minimalism to high-energy experimental creativity. These relaxed, inspiring and intimate gigs are for appreciative audiences of parents along with sleeping, feeding, wandering, dancing tots.

For this Sunday special gig we are incredibly fortunate to be able to bring to the stage accapella Northern Irish Folk group TRÚ who are in town for the weekend only! A perfect Sunday morning treat for the whole family.

”Right on the edge, where folk meets the rest.” - David Lyttle, Lyte Records/jazz drummer

TRÚ is a folk trio from Northern Ireland. Inspired by the Ulster song tradition, TRÚ creates music drawing on an eclectic musical heritage. From Gaelic sean nós to Appallachian ballads to Scots poetry, the band's song selection relies on the melodic and lyrical calibre of songs that stand the test of time. There is nothing traditional about TRÚ except the songs themselves.
